Concept of Contradictory

The terms Mutually Exlusive and Contradictory are synonyms.

Definition of Contradictory: They are different and common locus between them is not possible.

In one sense, they abide inharmoniously where one excludes the other. An example would be of computer language where it can be either 1 or 0. Directly contradictory is where they abide mutually directly discortently where presence of one would be absence of another, for example, presence of A would be absence of “Not A” or presence of 1 would be absence of 0, same as above. Indirectly Contradictory would be two concepts which are not directly contradictory but derived through a process. For example, “Pot” and  “Permanent” are Indirectly Contradictory as we have to go through the process of identifying “Pot” as “Functional Thing” that is “Impermanent”. “Impermanent” is the direct contradictory of “Permanent”, hence, “Pot” and “Permanent” are Indirectly Contradictory.

In another sense, they abide inharmoniously in a manner of one acting to oppose the continuity of the other. For example, Fire and Ice cannot co-exist, as one will oppose the continuity of the other.
