Four types of reasoning
There are four types of reasoning:
1. Demonstration: When the propositions on which the arguments are based are true, it is said to be a Demonstration.
2. Dialectics: When the arguments are based on generally accepted opinions, it is Dialectics.
3. Contentious Reasoning: When the arguments are based on propositions which only appear to be generally accepted but are not generally accepted, the reasoning are Contentious.
4. Misreasoning: When the arguments are based on propositions which are neither true nor generally accepted, it is misreasoning.
